Spring Fishing Door County

April is here in Door County and the fishing on the Bay of Green Bay is just starting to heat up. We have has some colder weather than normal for this time of year. Water temps are just starting to climb and the Walleyes are starting to show up in pre-spawn areas. The fishing on the West shore near Oconto WI is also starting to get better. This year was warm early and then it got cold. We finally see some warm weather in the forecast for this weekend. April walleye fishing is one of the best months on the Bay of Green Bay. We are also seeing Steelhead trout and Brown Trout in the rivers! Very fun fish to target when they are in the rivers in the Spring in Door County! May isn't far off either! May is one of the best month of the year to Smallmouth fish in Door County Wisconsin. Just like April Walleyes, Smallmouth bass are pre-spawn making them the heaviest they will be all year! Spring bass are very fun to catch and target, the way they eat and fight is like nothing else we have on the Bay of Green Bay!
